Wing of Madoola reimplementation
About
NOTE: OpenMadoola is not a standalone game and will not function without externally supplied game data. This project is not licensed or endorsed by Sunsoft.
For hundreds of years, the Lamer clan has guarded "The Wing of Madoola", a magical bird statue that grants whoever posesses it the power to rule the world. Daltos, a traitor of the Lamer clan, has stolen the statue and uses its power to summon monsters to conquer the world. It's up to Lucia, the only member of Lamer who can use magic, to defeat Daltos and recover the Wing of Madoola. You can do it, Lucia!
OpenMadoola is my attempt to make the definitive version of "The Wing of Madoola". It plays just like the original game engine, but runs natively on your computer. OpenMadoola offers many enhancements over the original version of the game, including:
- Game runs without NES hardware limitations (no slowdown, no sprite flicker, etc.)
- Gameplay data is saved to disk
- A recreation of the cancelled VS. System arcade port, "The Wings of Madoola"
- An MML compiler that allows users to make their own music and sound effects
- Numerous bugfixes and optional gameplay tweaks
Permissions
2 permissions weaken the sandbox. Flatsonar asks before installing.
- all devices (/dev): webcams, disks, raw hardware
--device=all - X11 display: X11 lets apps read input and windows of other apps
--socket=x11 - inter-process communication (needed for X11)
--share=ipc - Wayland display
--socket=wayland - audio
--socket=pulseaudio - X11 display, only when Wayland is unavailable
--socket=fallback-x11
