LGX
by Jarle Aase
High-performance log viewer for large files and live sources
About
LGX is a modern, high-performance log viewer for Linux that scales from single files to multi-million-line logs and streaming sources. The Flatpak build exists for distribution convenience and easy installation, not for restrictive sandboxing. LGX is a host-integrated developer tool and intentionally keeps access to local files, the systemd journal, and host commands such as docker, adb, and shell pipelines. Features include: - Open multiple logs in tabs, like a web browser - Open local files, pipe streams, systemd journal, Docker container logs, and Android logcat streams - Apply multiple filters to a single log source - Separate pane for marked lines - Treat streams like normal logs: follow, navigate, filter and mark - Auto-detect and colorize common log formats - Fast navigation: first/last line, ±10%, next/previous warning or error - Optional follow mode for live logs - Adjustable zoom, line wrapping, and selection-aware copy LGX is designed for developers and DevOps professionals who need to work with large or streaming log data efficiently.
