About

OmaAmp is a Winamp 2.91-style audio player for Linux, written in Python with Qt. It plays local files with a real DSP chain behind it — a 10-band IIR biquad equalizer, a preamp with a soft limiter, and an FFT spectrum analyzer driven by the audio actually playing rather than by a decoration. What it does: - The classic modular layout: main window with LED clock, spectrum analyzer, marquee, specs readout, volume, balance and seek - 10-band graphic equalizer (60 Hz to 16 kHz) with presets, preamp and a live frequency-response curve - Six visualizer modes — spectrum analyzer, laser oscilloscope, dual VU meters, warp starfield, matrix rain and a polar frequency ring - Playlist editor with drag and drop, search, M3U/PLS import and export, and state restored on restart - Theme engine with bundled themes, an in-app theme studio, and .wsz skin support - Internet radio from a searchable directory and direct stream URLs, plus YouTube audio streams - MP3, FLAC, WAV, OGG and AAC playback - English and Swedish interface Playing local files needs no network at all. Radio, YouTube streams and the optional theme-sharing feature do, and they are the only things that use it: the radio directory (radio-browser.info), whatever stream URL you paste, and — only if you paste a GitHub token of your own — the GitHub API, to publish a shared theme as a gist in your account. There is no telemetry, no account of the app's own, and no background update check.
