About
Sonix Studio is a digital audio workstation for Linux, written in Rust with an egui interface. It edits audio directly on the timeline, the way FL Studio does, with magnetic loop snapping — and keeps the engine's word: everything the interface advertises is wired to real DSP, including the parts that are still rough. Features include: - Timeline arranger with direct clip editing, slicing and magnetic loop snapping - Real-time cpal/ALSA audio engine, with the system's PipeWire working through its ALSA layer - 16-step channel rack, piano roll, and touch instruments - Analog Alchemy synthesizer, drum synthesis, per-voice filter and envelope - Multichannel effects mixer with per-track sends, automation lanes and VCA groups - Vocal Studio with microphone recording, a sampler and a pitch-preserving time-stretch - Stem separation (DSP path), a stem focus editor and Suno stem-pack import - Plugin host: catalogues everything, and loads CLAP, VST3 and VST2 effects with delay compensation - Optional AI music assistant speaking to any OpenAI-compatible endpoint - Export to WAV/MP3/FLAC with the master mix or per-track stems Two things are deliberately opt-in rather than shipped: neural stem separation (needs a build with the neural feature plus a user-supplied HTDemucs model — the DSP separator is what runs without one) and LV2 plugin loading, which has no host yet. The project says so itself in its README rather than in a footnote.

Nobody has confirmed that the publisher controls this app id. Flatsonar warns before installing.
