About

A Linux-native port of the Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition Setup Tool and Configuration Tool, for the PC release of Silent Hill 2 (2002) running under Wine/Proton. It reads the same component manifest and settings schema as the official Windows tools, so it stays current with the project automatically. Features include: - Download, verify, and install all Enhanced Edition components - Maintenance mode: update or uninstall an existing install - Offline install from pre-downloaded packages - Full configuration editor for every d3d8.ini setting, including Speedrun Mode - Automatic Wine/Proton DLL-override setup (the project's d3d8 wrapper) - One-click "Add to Steam" as a non-Steam game, with launch options pre-filled Silent Hill 2 PC is installed offline into an arbitrary folder, so you point the tool at wherever the game lives; it can also auto-detect installs inside common Wine/Proton prefixes (Steam, Lutris, Heroic, Bottles). This project is not affiliated with Konami. The enhancements and the original Setup Tool are by the Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition project.
