About
Glyph is a screen text extractor and OCR utility for Linux desktops. Inspired by Microsoft PowerToys Text Extractor, Glyph allows you to select any screen region, extract text using optical character recognition, and copy it to your clipboard. Key features: - Instant Capture (Mode A): crop a screen area and copy recognized text directly to the system clipboard. - Review and Edit (Mode B): inspect text, join split lines, and trim whitespace in a native Libadwaita window before copying. - Geometry-aware page segmentation: dynamically chooses single-line, block, or page layout modes based on crop dimensions. - Wayland and X11 support via XDG Desktop Portal with fallbacks for spectacle, grim, slurp, maim, and scrot. - Desktop notifications with escaped markup and application icon integration. - Local, offline processing with zero telemetry and private temporary storage. - Native GTK4 and Libadwaita interface adhering to GNOME Human Interface Guidelines.
