About

Demote turns your Steam Deck (or any Linux desktop) into a universal remote for the TVs and streaming boxes on your network. It discovers your devices, pairs with them, and gives you a big touch-friendly remote that you can also drive with the Deck's gamepad. Supported devices: - Samsung Tizen smart TVs - Roku players and Roku TVs (TCL, Hisense, onn…) - Vizio SmartCast TVs - LG webOS smart TVs - Android TV / Google TV (Sony, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV…) - Generic DLNA / UPnP media renderers (cast video files and URLs) The on-screen buttons adapt to whatever the selected device actually supports, and mapped controls show a small Steam Deck input hint. When focused, Demote grabs the gamepad exclusively so a game in the background never sees the presses.
